The Serpentine Green Shopping Centre is aware of and committed to its responsibilities to our environment. To this end we have adopted an environmental statement to outline our aims:
The Centre shall remain committed to its recycling programs for cardboard, metal and plastic as well as composting our green waste produced from the centres grounds. This will be done with the aim of reducing the Centres reliance on landfill waste disposal.
Further more the Serpentine Green Shopping Centre shall explore and where appropriate, implement renewable energy supplies and energy saving technology to reduce our consumption of electricity, gas and water.
Serpentine GREEN facts:
We currently recycle approximately 55% of the waste generated by the Centre.
This year we are using a carbon offsetting program to offset the 3.44 tonnes of carbon that our Christmas decorations generate.
This year our Christmas lights are using LED bulbs, this will reduce the power used by our Christmas decorations by roughly 75%.
